Summer Project to distribute Sports Gear to Kids in remote Coastal Communities
KARES.CA is pleased to support the Coastal Kindness Cruise for the summer cruise of 2017. This project will deliver sports gear donated by organizations in the Vancouver area to 9 different communities along the BC Coast.
"I was inspired by the Netflix documentary, The Kindness Diaries, to add an element of kindness to my summer boating season" says Bruno Hoffman of Kajoomla Marketing Services. "There are so many sports organizations with excess gear who generously donate equipment".
The Coastal Kindness Cruise has connected with ISPARC in order to ensure the sports equipment is delivered to the appropriate leader in each community. The equipment includes brand new soccer balls, team jerseys, fastball bats and balls. KARES.CA stepped in to fill a request by ISPARC to supply coaches clipboards, whistles, ice packs and sports hair bands.
"Our coaches are teaching sports to kids with little sports equipment" states Kim Leming, ISPARC Sport and Physical Activity Coordinator for Vancouver Island. "Often one soccer ball and jackets marking goals are all they have".
Thanks to the generosity of KARES.CA these coaches and kids will now have better equipment to help them play sports.
