Kares.ca is looking for mortgage industry professionals to give some of their time to mentor youth at risk working towards the completion of their post-secondary education.
Our Kares.ca partners, The Cmolik Foundation, are looking for individuals to mentor their amazing students as they embark on the journey through the next phase of their education. “These kids have come from some very unpleasant backgrounds and have struggled to overcome much adversity”, says Ellen Cmolik, Founder of the Cmolik Foundation.
The Cmolik Foundation awards these students with post-secondary scholarships, up to 4 years, fully paid. “Becoming a mentor to these kids can truly be one of the most rewarding experiences” explains Bruce Coleman, Co-Founder of Kares.ca.
The commitment would be to meet with your student, either in person or by phone, at least once a month to provide support, encouragement, and to advise them as issues arise. A majority of these youth attend universities or post-secondary institutions in British Columbia, however many attend universities across the country.
